This tiny garden belongs to a new build townhouse in the city of Philadelphia. Whilst the building was finished to a high standard the garden was left as an afterthought and the customer was keen to make the most of the space and bring it in line with the rest of the house.
The design consists of a raised planter and built in seat eliminating the need for other chairs that could make the space feel a little crowded. The existing ugly fence, that could not be removed, was clad with Iroko Hardwood and a screen, also in Iroko, was erected to hide two large air conditioning units that had previously dominated the garden. To further maximise space a shelf was made above one of the units to house the bins.
